Hi, I’m Barry Wolfe, founder of Argos HR Solutions. My HR journey began before I even knew what Human Resources was — working in my father’s manufacturing company in St. Marys, Pennsylvania at age 13. I was running factory equipment and learning to drive a forklift before I had a learner’s permit.
I saw firsthand what makes businesses run: the dedication of people who show up every day to do the hard work. That experience shaped not only my work ethic, but my philosophy on what HR should be — practical, respectful, and focused on helping people and businesses thrive.

After earning my degree and stepping into HR leadership roles in manufacturing, engineering, and healthcare, I saw the unique HR challenges that privately held companies face — and the disconnect between corporate theory and boots-on-the-ground reality.
That’s why I built my own “HR toolbox”: practical, proven strategies that work for real businesses. Not buzzwords. Not cookie-cutter solutions. Just straightforward tools that help good people do great work.

Why Argos
The name Argos is inspired by
GREEK MYTHOLOGY
When the hero Jason of Greek mythology was pursuing his quest for the Golden Fleece, he needed a very unique ship, one that didn’t exist anywhere in the world. It had to be able to face the challenges of the Aegean Sea for unknowable months, but be of a size that could be manned by himself and his band of followers. So he turned for help to someone with a unique set of skills and expertise – the shipwright Argos, who built for Jason the famous ship, the Argo.
It was Jason’s adventure, his team of experts in the Argonauts. But Argos and his expertise was able to provide the hero the tools he needed to complete his mission.
We may be in western Pennsylvania rather than ancient Greece. But in much the same spirit, Argos HR Solutions is here to put its unique knowledge and skills at the service of your business adventure.
